Background

I was born in Cornwall, England and emigrated to Australia in 1989. As a child, my passions were books, dance, and music but I decided to follow a sensible path when it came choose a career.

I graduated from RMIT Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) and an Advanced Diploma of Business Management. I have since worked as a software programmer, technical lead, User Experience (UX) designer, front-end designer, and web developer. I also hold a Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management and worked as a dance teacher with children and adults.

I have always sought opportunities to write and edit for newsletters, magazines and blogs, and in 2010 decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an author. Motherhood then led me to the wonderful world of children’s books. With a childhood in England steeped in music, dance and poetry, rhythm is in my blood so rhyming picture books are my favourite to write. I also enjoy researching historical facts to weave into my stories.

My hobbies include ballet, squash, gardening and, of course, curling up with a good book, a cup of English Breakfast tea and a piece of chocolate.
